Use Relevant Keywords In Your Content

Keywords are words and phrases that people use to search for things in their favorite search engines. For example, if I wanted to find information on baseball cards from 1984, I might go to a search engine and enter the term "1984 baseball cards" - that term is called a keyword or keyword phrase.

It's these keywords and phrases that you want to include in your page content and page title.

When you are titling your page and writing out your page content, try to think of some phrases people might use to search for the information that your webpage provides. Include these words and phrases in your page content.

So, to go back to our example of the baseball cards. You would want to try to include the term "1984 baseball cards" in both your page title and in the content of the page.

Don't Overuse Keywords!

As usual, include just a few and make sure it doesn't negatively affect how well your content reads. Overstuffing keywords not only makes your content unpleasant to read because it'll sound funny, it can also cause search engines to penalize your website.

A good rule of thumb to follow is not to exceed 2-3% keyword density. So if you're page content is 100 words you don't want to include the same keyword more than 2 or 3 times.
