Connecting to a Outlook/Hotmail/Live/MSN Account
Host: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Security Requirement: TLS
Connecting to Office365 Accounts
Email Address: Enter the email address you are wishing to send email from
Password: Enter email addresses current password
Name: Leave Blank
Host: Refer to Office365 support to obtain your SMTP server
Port: 25
Security Protocol: None
Warnings and Tips
It's highly possible if the inital connection fails that Microsoft has blocked this first connection for security reasons. You can allow this account access by following these instructions:
- Log into https://account.microsoft.com
- Head to the "Security" tab.
- Look at the "Recent Activity List" and find the listing for the website connection. Click on "It was me" to allow your site access to your Outlook.com/Hotmail/Live/MSN email account.
