Internal Link

Creating a link to a page on your website:

  1. Type or copy/paste the text to be linked.
  2. Highlight the text to be linked.
  3. From the menu, select the INTERNAL LINK icon.

  4. The following popup will appear with your full SiteMap. Click on the page name you want to link to. The pop-up will close automatically.

External Link

Creating a link to another website:

  1. Type or highlight text you would like to be linked.
  2. From the editor, select the LINK icon.

  3. Using the Link Properties box, type or paste the website address into the URL field.
  4. Click Ok to create the hyperlink.

To change how this URL behaves click on the Target tab. Advanced Tab allows more link customizations such as adding a Title (called Advisory Title).

Note: For Name field see linking to a another spot on the same page below.

 

Removing a Link

To delete a link simply click on the text or image that contains the link and click on the "Delete Link" icon in the editor.

Adding a Link to an Email Address

Follow the steps for adding a website link (above) only select "E-mail” in the Link Type drop down.

Adding a link to a phone number

With your sites users more commonly using their mobile phones to browser your website, a convenient link to add is your phone number. Clicking it will allow them to call you right from your website.

In the Link properties box there is a new Link Type mode called “Phone”. Entering the phone number will create a link to the phone number.

Note, the link will only work on a smartphone.

Turning an Image Into A link

  1. SiteApex Editor LinksClick on your image.
  2. From the menu, select the LINK icon. A pop-up menu appears.
  3. Link Type: URL
  4. Protocol: Choose the protocol appropriate for your link. Typically you will use "http://" if you are linking to a secure page select "https://". Tip: you do not need to have a protocol in the URL line.
  5. URL: type or paste the website address.
  6. To change how this URL behaves click on the Target tab.
  7. Advanced Tab allows more link customizations such as adding a Title (called Advisory Title).
  8. Click Ok to create the hyperlink.

Adding a Link to a specific place on the same Page

The function you want to use to use to link to another position of the page are called anchor tags. Here are some instructions on how to setup this feature. You can add anchor tags to any page with the SiteApex Editor bar this includes the Newsletter.

  1. Type the text (or highlight existing text) you want to send the user to and highlight that area with the cursor.
  2. SiteApex Editor Create AnchorClick on the "Anchor" button on the editor and give it a name for reference. Note: do not sure spaces or numbers. Click Ok.
  3. Once you have created your anchor, select the text or image you want them to click on to take them there. Click on the "Hyperlink" button in the editor.
  4. In the hyperlink pop up window click the drop down for URL Type and select "Link to Anchor in the text" and select your Anhcor in the "By Anchor Name". Click Ok.
  

Adding a Link to a specific place on a different page

 
The function you want to use to use to hyperlink to a position on another page. Here are some instructions on how to setup this feature.
  1. Type the text (or highlight existing text) you want to send the user to and highlight that area with the cursor.
  2. SiteApex Editor Create AnchorClick on the "Anchor" button on the editor and give it a name for reference. Note: do not sure spaces or numbers. Click Ok.
  3. Submit the the page to save settings.
  4. Edit the original page they will find the link on and select the text or image you want them to click on to take them there. Click on the "Internal Link" and click on the page they will be going to on your website.
  5. Still on that text now open the hyperlink box and add # at the end of the URL and type the anchor name at the end of the URL. It should look similar to domainName.com/webPage.php#bottom
  6. Click Ok.
  7. Submit the page to save settings and Publish site to try this live.
