Making Content Secure

You can add content security to any public web page. The security system will require users to log in before they can view the content on that particular page. Access to secure pages is assigned by setting a Security Group to have the privilege's to view the contents.

Enabling Page Security

In the Site Map area of the admin, Edit the page you want to secure make secure and click "Edit" in the top right.
Click on the Security tab to edit the security settings for the page you are editing.
Enable Make this page secure
Next, check one or more groups of users who will be allowed to log in.
If you would like to give your visitors the option of signing up as a secure user, you can use the "User Sign-up Link" to direct them to a page with a sign-up form.
Press Save Changes & Publish to save your changes and make this change live on your website.

Note: If you are logged in to the back end and you make the administrators one of the groups that can access the secure page, it will automatically log you in. You will need to test with a different browser or log out of the back end before testing your new secure page.

Redirecting Secure Pages Based on Specific Users or Groups

If you decide to make a page secure per the above steps, you can also set up the page to automatically redirect specific users or groups to other pages on your website.

For example, let's say you secure a page and allow a security group named 'X' to be able to log into that page.

You can set up the page to also redirect all of the 'X' group users to another page upon logging in. Or, you can set up specific redirects based on individual users in the 'X' security group.

To do this, follow these steps:

Edit the secure page for editing in the admin area of your website.
Click on the security tab.
Enable Make this page secure
Next, check one or more groups of users who will be allowed to log in.
Now in the Redirect to URL area, you have a couple of options.

a) If you enter a url in the main group line, it will redirect any user from that group that logs in. So for example, if you entered https://yourDomain.com/staff-page in the line for the 'X' group in the image above, any member of the 'X' security group will get redirected to https://yourDomain.com/staff-page when they log in.

b) For more refined redirecting you can also enter specific URL's redirects for specific users.
Once you've entered in all of your redirects, click Save Changes & Publish for these changes to take effect.
