Security and Moderating on the BBS
When you are editing your forum you can choose different Access Level's to make it secure. This security settings are specific to each forum so it is possible to make 1 public and another one require BBS Users login to post.
- "Anonymous" means it is totally public, no log in required to make posts.
- "BBS Users" means only users in the BBS Users group has access to post topics/replies.
- "BBS Administrators" mean only the Admins of the website have access to the forum.
If you need to make the forum page secure so that nobody can view the forum without first logging in please see our help on making pages secure.
Setting up BBS Moderators
When you edit a Forum, the list of moderators pulls from the BBS Users group but you have to select them before they become a moderator. Holding CTRL + left mouse click will let you select multiple people in that list. When a user becomes a moderator it gives them privileges to edit/delete any postings on that particular forum.
Not sure what all this user group stuff is about? Please see our Security help here.
